THE FULL MOON

the moon tonight was coy and bright
and yet so childish too
she splayed her beams in hide and seek
and played a peek a boo
she rode in splendor through the clouds
within her palace dome
she mocked the trinket earth~
through gauze her lumens known
and rode across the blackened roof~
said not a single word
but her silence in that sleek of night
was loud and could be heard.

a distant flag , endless ripples
paid her homage dear
the lighthouse flashed its reddened light
and deemed a passage clear
she caused a tree to silhouette
a lacey branch filled dance-
a sheepish little minuet, fantasy at glance

she smiled big and bold and bright
at nighttime fast asleep
she bowed then to impending dawn
who rose up orange to seep
into the realm of quiet hours
as daylight swam ashore
and then fell fast and sound asleep
on a stardust sprinkled floor

This is beautifully written and full of personification. Very impressive!
