Autumn Poem by Betty Lou Hebert

Autumn's Song
Flowers growing with cachet,
Scent the woods with their bouquet.
Add aroma to the haze
Decorating autumn days.
Walking on towards home I find,
Hearth and fire come to mind.
There's a certain, lonely sound
In each breeze that comes around
And a coolness in the air,
Though the days are clear and fair.
Fall flowers growing sing to me
Of warmer days and I can see
Though winter will be long and gray,
When all of these are gone away,
I'll remember how they grew
Here in autumn, as they do
And I'll see them again next year
When their blooming season's here
